Following the much publicised problems on the Llangollen Canal, the Lyneal Trust would like the opportunity to advise that we are very much open and operating as usual.
Despite the devastating effect on boat owners and business affected by the recent canal breach, the Lyneal Trust is fortunate to be able to continue providing accessible holidays and days out for families and groups with special needs or vulnerabilities.
The day boat has no need to change its ability to provide days out for our disabled guests as the area of the canal we use is fully operational. The holiday boat, Shropshire Maid, is able to navigate to Llangollen and the Montgomery canal, as most of our guests prefer to visit in this direction. There has never been a better time, due to the much lower canal traffic, to enjoy this iconic canal trip over the Pontcysyllte Aquaduct and the 1,400 feet Chirk Tunnel.
The holiday cottages are also available to provide holidays for up to eight people in our refurbished wharf cottage and the adjacent garden cottages with bedrooms and wet rooms.
