Lyneal Trust has launched a newly redesigned website, created to make it easier for people to find information about our accessible canal boat holidays, day trips and cottage stays.
Our previous website contained everything visitors needed to know, but over time as we added more information, it became harder to navigate and did not fully meet modern accessibility standards. As a charity supporting people with disabilities, illness and other vulnerabilities, it was important that our website reflected our values and removed barriers rather than creating them.
The new website has been designed with accessibility and ease of use at its core. Visitors can now find information more quickly, navigate the site more easily and access details about our holidays, canal day trips and accommodation with greater confidence. Improvements have also been made to meet recognised accessibility standards, helping ensure the site works better for users with a wide range of needs.
What’s changed?
- Modern, fresh design with improved readability and layout
- Clearer navigation so you can find holidays, day trips and cottage stays quickly
- Accessibility improvements to better support people with disabilities and other needs
- Easier to scan content with headings and short paragraphs
- More imagery and photography to showcase what we do
- Blog feature to allow news articles and updates to be shared
Paul Newton, Chairman of Lyneal Trust, said:
“Lyneal Trust exists to provide inclusive and accessible breaks for people who may otherwise find holidays and day trips difficult to access. Our website is often the first point of contact for families and carers, so it was essential that it reflected our values and removed barriers rather than creating them. The new site allows people to find the information they need more easily and with greater confidence.”
Sarah-Jane Lamb is a Trustee of Lyneal Trust but also the founder of Accessible Places UK, an independent disability access consultancy. She said:
“The new Lyneal Trust website is clear, easy to navigate and creates a strong sense of the holiday experience on offer. Importantly, it makes information accessible and straightforward for disabled visitors and their families. It’s something the Trust can be genuinely proud of.”
The redesign was carried out by local Shrewsbury-based design agency Studio Payne, who worked with the Trust to modernise the website while keeping the focus firmly on accessibility and usability.
David of Studio Payne said:
“Lyneal Trust already had all the right information, but it wasn’t always easy for people to access. The aim of the redesign was to create a clear, accessible and welcoming website that works for its audience. It’s been a pleasure to support such an important local charity.”
We hope the new website will help more people discover Lyneal Trust and make planning an accessible holiday or break simpler for individuals, families and carers.
